UIUC Teaching- some examples of student work
Teaching-Thea:105 Costume Technology - Students were given a final project that displayed topics learned throughout the semester: design, sewing skills (industrial machines & hand sewing), draping/flat patterning, spec'ing, & cutting. Students had to option to make: An apron, pillow, or purse/tote bag. In their design they had to incorporate three stitching details they learned in the class. This included: closures, hand & machine sewing, and a decorative element such as a pocket or trim. All students were at different skill levels.
