Stainless Steel Case

Custom designed hinged box with locking clasps. Designed to offer two means of opening. One way reveals entire box for workpiece insertion or removal, while the other method reveals only a portion for workpiece inspection and calibration. Additional clasps on the top allow a portion of the sides to fold down. Very little welding was required on the sides; the majority of the assembly was done with sheet metal screws. Egg-crate foam was installed with spray adhesive for workpiece protection, and rubber bumpers were added to the bottom for stacking purposes . The main challenge of this project was the time-sensitive needs of the client. Six samples were produced from design, fabrication, and final assembly all in less than four days.
