Product Dimensional Specifications
This project involved the development and prototyping of a new line of blowers specifically qualifying as an AMCA Arrangement 3. PTC Creo 1.0 was used to create the 3D models and 2D layouts. PTC/Program with relations offered a means to set the state of the model simply by a set of parameters controlling the file. A single "solid-based model" method was used (rather than an assembly) to reduce the number of parts created in a library and simplify the family table. Flat part development was done programmatically outside the sheet metal features of Creo, and using a template, the user can export a PDF print showing the assembly and sheet metal details as well as a DXF containing the flat components for laser processing - all done by a few clicks of the mouse. This CAD model streamlined the company's ability to provide product documentation, quote, and fabricate with little added effort from the CAD or Engineering Departments.
