Destructive Test Pit
Destructive test pit designed to blow-up centrifugal impellers at speeds over 10,000 RPM. Unit is designed to be 100% leak proof and withstand pressures down to 99.8% true vacuum. Vacuum is used to significantly reduce the power requirement that would otherwise exist in ambient, high-speed applications. Project challenges include a sealed door & drive assembly, high-speed & high-radial-load bearing selection, and non-collapsing structure.
