Air Modulation Device

Project features the design of a air modulating device intended for mounting over the inlet cone of any blower. Concept mocked off 1965 design that used cast aluminum plates. Provided link is to original patent held by John I. Janette for Jan-Air, Inc.

New design features all sheet metal parts, a more compact design, smoother rotation, easier mounting, lower cost, and availability in multiple materials including 316SS for operation in temperatures up to 1000 degrees F.

Designed in Creo 1.0. The model features assembled parts that can be "grabbed" and freely rotated based on each pieces' restricted range of motion.

Initial prototype was sold as first production model. Main use is for maintaining proper air-fuel mix ratios in burners. Mechanism is often controlled with a servo-motor and linkage arm.
