Prithvi
“Prithvi (means Earth in Hindi)”, depicts how we as humans have slowly eaten away our planet earth. Polluting the very giver of life Prithvi is a reminder that Earth which was once known as the Blue Planet is now slowly bleeding to death. I have tried to create a visually mysterious fabric which has been fabricated by remoulding “used” gelatine and has been enhanced using the technique of “Marbling” handmade paper. The two colours: “blue” and “red” have been symbolically used to represent Earth (blue – Earth as described from space) and Death (red – as exposed flesh).
