Ghungroo - 2012 Gen-i Creative Excellence Section - Visual Sympohny Section - 'Commendable'
'Visual Symphony' could no better be described for any Indian,Than the magic of 'Ghungroo' a Musical Anklet (many small metallic bells strung together) which is tied to the feet of Classical Indian Dancers...I have taken the same concept and tried to create a visually enigmatic surface using Traditional Indian Technique of Tie-Dye – Bandhani (baaan-dh-nee), 100% Handmade, using tiny Indian Bell beads, hidden away below the surface of Gold Tissue (Gold-traditionally the colour of ghun-ga-roo) and what results is a enchanting dress which creates mystical music, similar to that created by the anklets worn by the classical Indian dancers.
