These beautiful silks scarves were designed during one of my workshops in Bolpur (W.B.) in 2007, where I worked as a design consultant and trainer with NIFT, Kolkata. Unique styles were created by combining the traditional 'Kantha' Embroidery of Bengal with another traditional resist dyeing technique, 'Batik'.
The objective of this project was to help the talented 'Kantha' artisans come up with new product ideas and opportunities, thereby enhancing the value of their indigenous crafts to enable them to charge a price premium in the market.
