Rohit Malkani

Advertising is where I spend my day and more often than not, night! But there's a lot more to me (78kgs to be precise) which you should know about. Here are some of my better known talents/side acts.

I've been a part-time lecturer at XIC Mumbai(Xavier Institute of Communications) where I taught the Post Graduate Advertising & Marketing class.

Theatre is and always will remain my biggest passion. In Calcutta I was a member of two theatre groups. In Bangalore I worked largely with Arjun Sajnani. In Mumbai I work with the QTP and RAGE. In all I have worked in over 50 productions till date.

I have been an RJ for Radio Mid-day in Bangalore, hosting a Sunday Retro show called ‘All Gold’. For Times FM, doing a weekend show called the Mahindra Armada Drivedown. And for Radio City, Bangalore, hosting a popular Retro show on Sunday nights.

I often model, and have used my talent for several brands both in Print and Television including IBM, Britannia, Iodex, Amrutanjan, Tom Chi, Reynolds, Coir Board of India, Lifebuoy, Mcdonalds, Pizza Hut, Parle Marie, Colgate, Lakme, Naukri.com and Playwin.I am a voracious reader. I love almost any kind of music. I am obsessive about the Grateful Dead World Music and Blues.

My wife and I have done a fair amount of travel and food writing. Our work has been published in Jetwings and Upper Crust and we continue on our culinary quest whenever we find the time, sniffing out new stories and opportunities.

I am also a great cook and dream of one day opening my kind of place in the sun.

In my spare time I have performed stand up comedy in Mumbai. I've played to packed houses at Starters and More, Bombay Gymkhana, Otters Club and Not Just Jazz by the Bay.

I did a five city tour for Black and White Whisky called ‘Unbelong Nights’ and featured In India Today and Man’s World magazine for my talent.
