Urban Decay’s story begins 15 years ago when pink, red and beige enslaved the beauty market. Their make-up is pretty and maybe a
little twisted but never prissy. The theme, ‘Bewitching Metamorphosis’ was inspired from their already existing design style in which they turn the mundane act of applying cosmetics into an enchanted and fun ritual. Their client palette are rabid fans of change as they go from pixie to vixen or rockstar to movie star . The station is bewitching as it morphs from a lockable box into a beautiful and intuitive design with purpose, intention and intelligence. As one approaches, she can anticipate the metamorphosis as she seats in a luxurious chair that is inspired by the chrysalis of the butterfly- a life-cycle of rejuvenation; a place of transformation and maybe where even a little magic happens. Having been an essential design icon for Urban Decay, the butterfly couldn’t be more perfect to exemplify intelligent design, transformation and beauty.
