"On the following day, he was still a vibration rather than a solid..." - Nabakov

I am interested in the intersection of traditional art practice, history, and perception with the emergence of digital evolution. My work and thought process exist in a vibrating space, examining, playing upon, and defying the idea of portraiture, landscape, location, and narrative. By incorporating drawings, paintings, photography, and computer programs, pieces are adaptable and subject to change. I ask, "how much information does the viewer need to perceive this piece as a portrait or story and how are our physical or ideological reference points, such as maps or art history, changing due to the rapid acceleration of technology? How do I represent these questions visually?" My pieces highlight that, as a society, vision and attention are now diverted from a picture hung on the wall; subsequently, they're focused on processing multi-faceted imagery whilst simultaneously engaging with other media.
