The "MCC Event Series," hosted by NYU Department of Media, Culture, and Communication, is a public showcase of cutting-edge media studies scholarship at New York University. Prominent speakers are invited to converse on such themes as: visual culture and sound studies, digital media and technology, globalization and transcultural studies, and media institutions and politics.
The client asked me to design a brochure and a set of poster templates for the entire event season lineup. The design challenge was to create a visual system across all print materials while communicating a vibrant look and feel. The image selection was also a critical step in my creative process for representing a program known to be global, critical, and engaged. By using color tints over images of iconic objects, I was able to incorporate legible black and white fonts that provided visual contrast and hierarchy.
