'Perceive' is to see, recognize, or receive something sensually.
'Interpret' is to analyze, try to comprehend and explain something into any form.
I, personally, prefer the drawing of myself since I was able to look at details o my actual face while I was drawing.
Most of the time I symbolize detailed features of someone with something. To illustrate, if the person I drew has a heart-shaped lips, I would rather just draw it roughly as a heart. Just simple as that :D
It's more comfortable and easier for me to draw my face since I've seen it for 17years. LOL
