Personal Solar Aircraft
Deus Ex Machina - Solar Personal Aircraft - The Deus Ex Machina concept is designed to fit into the Light Sport Aircraft category. Lightweight, twin boom, carbon-fiber composite aircraft with a pod cabin in the center, utilizing solar panels on the wings to generate 80% of the cruising power and batteries for power assisted takeoff and climb. The electric motor peaks at 8hp for takeoff & climb, will cruise at 3hp at 60mph and 5hp at 90mph. The solar cell skinned upper half of the wing is detachable to allow for upgrades.
