The design’s main aim is to create a more comfortable, relaxing and atmosphere for Apple’s customers. These customers would get to experience a stress-free jam with a smooth traffic flow employed in the design of its retail stores. In the flooring design, it would also make use of a metallic grey color and siltstone flooring. To conclude, the new retail store design would be based on the combination of elements of the Apple’s product and brand identity.
Machines Apple Retailer (Selected student work) - The first thing that would catch Apple’s customers’ attention would be its elegant and inviting design of the entrance to Apple’s retail stores. This entrance would then lead to the passage way and the product display area.
There would also be a passageway where the Apple’s brand identity would be displayed at the end. This design is inspired from Apple’s mini-store concept. Through this design, an adventurous and mysterious environment would be created.

The counter area includes the Genius Bar and the cash counter. There would be a metallic grey with glass surface used to replace the existing wood furniture in the current design. Through this design, there would be a more elegant design which links the design to Apple’s product identity.
The design of the discussion room in Apple’s retail stores originated from Apple’s store at Fifth Avenue. In this room, the walls would be cube shaped and made of glass. This room would also be a meeting place for both Apple’s customers and technicians. Besides, this room could also be used as a studio, where projectors will be installed in the room, with huge screens on the walls of the room.
The product element concept would be implemented in the design of this area. The shape of an ‘Ipod’ would be used as a rack, and there would be an earphone dock, where the product’s sample would be placed on it. This would then allow the customers to get a hands-on experience on Apple’s latest products. With all these concepts implemented in the design, this will then create a friendlier environment for Apple’s customers.
This is the location where new products would be displayed. There would be a number of sockets built-in where customers would be able to play on their newly bought Apple’s products. Besides, Apple’s customers can also interact with one another in this spot.
In the design of the display, there would be a lengthy stretch of racks attached on the metallic wall. Moreover, tons of tiny steel rods would be used for supporting Apple’s products, and also making the products stand-out.
A huge product dummy would be displayed to catch the attention of potential Apple’s customers. There would be fixtures of spot lights used to make the product stand-out. Besides, there would also be a colorful background with Apple logo. It would also be accompanied by colorful galaxies which brings out the modern concept of the design.
