FLUX
FLUX is an avalanche rescue tool designed to improve survivability rates of
avalanche victims by using a new approach to rescue excavation which will
ultimately save more lives. Every year approximately one-hundred and fifty
people trigger and avalanche causing them to be swept into their own icy tomb.
A shovel is the clear candidate for a new design because the excavation phase
of the rescue remains the most time consuming component of an avalanche
rescue. For an avalanche victim, one or two minutes is the difference between
life and death. The FLUX avalanche rescue tool speeds up rescues and saves
more lives.
