CONCRETE SCULPTURE 2014
Project done with:
- arch. Jerzy Cibis, Ph. D
This is a sculpture designed by Tadeusz Teodorowicz-Todorowski who was one of three founding fathers (along with Zygmunt Majerski and Wlodzimierz Buc) of Faculty of Architecture on Silesian University of Technology.
The sculpture shows three standing pylons made of reinforced concrete. Using this raw material T. Teodorowicz-Todorowski made it more noble by different drawings of boarding. These are standing on a base made of hand-made brick. On the upper parts of pylons, there are frames with colourful glasses attached. Rumour says that at certain days when the sun shines, full of colour light would make a pattern in the foyer's floor.
Until June 2014, it was standing just next to the building of Faculty of Architecture. Unfortunatelly, its condition was poor (see pictures). The sculpture was demolished and a new one was built in a new place. Many old elements were re-used.
