Smithsonian Institute - Against All Odds - Rescue at the Chilean Mine
This exhibit tells the story of the Chilean miners trapped deep within the San Jose copper-gold mine and the worldwide cooperation to rescue them. I was lead designer teamed up with a graphic designer and interpretive writer. We worked with the Director of Exhibits, Director of Geology, the Chilean Embassy and the US State Department. Deemed a “temporary” exhibit by the museum, it remained on display for approximately one year within the Geology and Mining Gallery. Several of the miners attended the opening.
