A set of disciplines, that deals with the matter, on how to design components of a product, seen from different point of views. Through Design of components, Materials and components for the design, Chemical processes of the production, and History of material culture, we studied the basic necessities and principles on how to design for the local need of people, criticizing globalization and thinking of more energy-efficient designs.
The final project was working from a concept to a final design for a small home appliance, using the existing fluxes in the house (air, water, heat) without the use of electricity and other conventional ways. Furthermore, we did research on the history of material things and prepared a paper on that.
Skills in specialized software were acquired, such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.
