To understand the context in which the design has to work, it was necessary to understand the workflows, the problems and the opportunities. We deconstructed the human work system and gathered important insights, diagrams envisioning the current work system, patterns of work flows, and scenarios.
To understand their lifestyle, environments, livelihood, local social communicative patterns and the everyday challenges they face, we conducted research in the rural parts of Maharashtra state.
To realize the inherent complexities of the rural businesses we studied the handloom weavers, artisans creating folk art and the fruit and floriculture
artists. Planning the data gathering, logistics, and analysis was crucial.
