Color theory is when mixing colors using primary, secondary, and tertiary colors on the wheel. Sir Isaac Newton created the color wheel in 1665. He split white sunlight onto different colored beams and joined the two ends to show a natural progression of the colors. He associated each color with a note on a musical scale.
