The Amazing Drunk Stool - This is an interactive stool that simulates intoxication. It's the result of a project limited to one knob as input device and one audio/video output. The user winds the stool by hand before sitting. The host pulls the rope turning the knob and spinning the stool. The user gets dizzy from the spin feeling drunk-like. With random actionscript, screen displays to the audience a Blood Alcohol Content, listing the symptoms one would experience at that level. Collaboration: Jonathan Jarvis

Miss Perfect - In this project we explored concept of desire for beauty and perfection with a dark criticism at our social values. Connecting each limb to the body prompted the doll to speak shallow comments such as “I’m just perfect”. When all four parts are attached a profound quote about beauty is spoken: “Have no fear of perfection. You’ll never reach it.” by Dali. The installation is a commentary on indulging in self through the bettering of its parts. Collaboration: Ilona Shumsky

Price Tag - The project was to create a database and design a Flash interface to visualize it. I created an index for a selection of Damien Hirst’s work and how much they sell for in the context of comparison to how much a designer in LA makes based on Aquent Salary Report. http://people.artcenter.edu/~semi/damien.html

LAX Weather Visualization - The LAX Weather Visualization displays 3 pieces of information directly from the National Weather Service via custom PHP code: Visibility, Humidity and time of day as last update. Inspired by the rays of sunlight shining through cloudy heat of Los Angeles and reminis-cent of glare circles of polaroids, I used the circles to communicate visibility and water ripples for humidity. http://people.artcenter.edu/~semi/serraSemi_weatherVis.swf
