The assignment was to create a logotype and specimen sheet for an assigned font. I was assigned Palatino Linotype. I wanted to approach the logotype and the type specimen sheet as a “modern classic.” To me, that was clearly how the typeface is best defined. This approach would allow me to play a bit with the kerning and ligatures while maintaining a “clean” aesthetic.
