I'll start, with WHO. Who am I, I am currently studying for a product design degree at Bournemouth University, and have previously acquired a levels in computing, biology and graphics: product design, and AS levels in ICT, physics and psychology. You can see here some key personal skills, gained through exploits such as volunteering BU design society, leadership roles as well as academic studies.
Next comes How, how my skills as a designer allow me to create products. The first stage / skill is manual sketching, here you can see a variety of sketches and hand renders for two of my main projects, a lighter design and a 100ml bottle project. To elaborate on the bottle - starting with the generation of over 130 concepts, then through the process of refinement, I then came to what you can see in the bottom corner, my final design, the Lego bottle.
After concept generation the next how, is CAD modelling, you can see again here the Lego bottle now realized in exact scale and dimensions, decals and rendered to a realistic finish. Made using various tools on the software Solidworks. The other two products you can see here are: (bottom) a mock MP4 player made using splits and save parts; specific mates to create working and realistic buttons; and a back-lit lCD screen. The other is a set of children's toy scales designed to balance up to 10 x 2p coins with 100 grams of sweets, created using calculations from moments.
As well as being able to generate vectors for a 3D printer, CNC machine, or a laser cutter to follow. I am also able to manually prototype, accurately and efficiently using hand tools, crude vacuum forming and fabrication as well using a multitude of tools to create a prototype fit for purpose from an array of materials.
What else? On display here are three of my favorite pieces of graphic design, the first being a different representation of the flash (superhero), secondly a design incorporating various pop/nerd culture, including a TARDIS (Dr Who) and a Pokéball (Pokémon), third and finally is a logo design for a game / web design company. Also on the note of other work I have also worked for a local rugby club back in Staffordshire where I was in charge of designing all of the posters, flyers, tickets, membership cards, and advertisements for the club for 2 years.
That concludes my portfolio tour. I hope there was something you enjoyed, Thank you for your time.
