Decay Will Feed the Bloom
The concept of this piece was to illustrate the mental illness of schizophrenia. It represents the idea that although mental illnesses such as schizophrenia may at first appear strange and frightening, the experience of it can be harsh and beautiful, shown with a broken human skull, eyes, and delicate branches. The "family laundry" is heavily influenced by the novel "The Center Cannot Hold" by Dr. Elyn Saks, and her own personal experiences with schizophrenia.
