From the first sketches the goal was to create a solid wood structure taking inspiration from a spinal column, a structure which support a light sheet of plywood. Starting from a classical wood structure and working on the shape to give it strength and resistance, the design incrementally became more contemporary creating an aesthetic similar to a stylized giraffe more than a spinal column.
Launched in Salone del Mobile in Milan, Jiraf is part of Archiproducts design selection for Salone 2017 and is nominated for Salone del Mobile Milano Award.
