Uplift - Low Cost Trans-Femoral Prosthesis

The majority of the prosthetic leg is constructed using PVC, which has many great qualities. PVC has a high tensile strength combined with impact strength.The knee is constructed using HDPE, which has excellent impact strength compared to other plastics. The knee utilizes a four bar linkage, with less parts than what exists in other knee models. The form of the knee allows a bigger range of motion for various tasks.

The different parts of the foot are stitched together using waxed thread for durability. The angle of the ankle can be adjusted with the brass coupling. The ankle utilizes a 98a durameter bushing to allow multiple axis of rotation. There is a bottom opening to adjust the tension on the bushing.
