Nainital in the rains - This is a page from a publication I designed for the hill station of Nainital, India. After the introduction and history section, the publication is divided according to the seasons since India is a country of seasons. This particular double spread is the first page of the 'rains' section in the book. Each season has its own colour pallette and style of typography. I have played with typography and some elements like squares, lines and other details. The challenge was to offer the reader something new with each section and yet not disturb the harmony of the book. This book is designed for tourists and for anyone who is interested in the small town of Nainital.
Tantrik art - These illustrations are based on Tantrik art. Tantra is an art of occult in India. I have researched, interpreted and then illustrated the mantras (chants), yantras (diagrams) and the icons of tantra.Kali is the Goddess of Tantra and the triangles in tantra symbolize the female aspect of nature. The female is the supreme power in Tantra. I later combined my illustrations with typography to explain the illustrations. These were later used as post cards.
