Brief: Design the new smart ceiling lighting range of Xiaomi, for home use. Strategic design choice: A dual main lighting made of 2 identical blow moulded diffusors. The platform was specifically designed for ease of installation and cost saving. The use of the Mijia smart app allows users to control all features, including an automatic night light mode. My involvement in this project: • design team leader • project / ressources management • concept creation • client & factory interface • product general architecture design • internal component placement & tech integration + design to cost approach • industrial design (sketching, CAD, CMF)

Xiaomi - smart ceiling lamp pro circular version This version is intended to be used in bedrooms or bathroom, not in living rooms. The circular version shares the same features and materials as the rectangular version, except for the dual main light feature. It features a 3 700 lumen lighting, with Ra95 and a colour temperature from 2 700k to 6 000k. It is rated for 55 w. Xiaomi - smart ceiling lamp pro rectangular version The rectangular version is to be used in living rooms. It is all made of aluminium for its platform and perimetric night light. The installation is made easier thanks to a sequential blocking system. The lighting system can be fully controlled with the Mijia smart app and allows for an unlimited lighting scenarios. It features a 10 000 lumen lighting, with Ra95 and a colour temperature from 2 700k to 6 000k. It is rated for 140 w and can fit a living room from 20 to 50 square meters.

Commercial result: Xiaomi sold 130 000 pieces in 2 years on the China domestic market, which is really good, considering the overall crisis in the real estate market during that time.
