Brief:
Design a new smart home camera system with high versatility and compact size (90 x 90mm).

Strategic design choice:
The use of smartphone high-end camera modules was made to push further the quality of the video and keep the size of the camera as compact as possible. To ensure maximum versatility, the camera is equipped with 4 degrees of liberty, all controlled by small electrical motors. It features an impressive list of sensors to improve home safety and help to create a great user experience. This combination of technologies makes the Shinka smart home camera the most compact and versatile smart home camera on the market.

Shinka - smart home camera - screw installation The installation of the smart camera was designed to be easy and allow the maximum of installation possibilities. Here, it is installed on a ceiling, in a 90 x 90 mm corner, with screws. In this picture, the cable USB-C cable was hidden in the wall. When the camera is inside its base, it physically cannot see anything, but also it cannot listen as well, as the microphone is located next to the camera, so the users / visitors know their privacy is fully protected when the camera is lodged in its base (like on previous picture).
Shinka - smart home camera - sticker installation When the camera is out of its base, it can record video, and its microphone is working. The speaker is always connected, ready to sound alarms (in case of intrusion, fire alarm, flooding or gas leak detection) or diffuse the voice of owners in the home. Flooding detection is not done by sensor, but through visual analysis of water reflection on the ground, using A.I.
On the top part of the product are the multiple sensors the camera is equipped with: • wifi & Bluetooth antennas, • humidity sensor, • temperature sensor, • gas leak sensor, • smoke detection sensor, • barometer.
Shinka - smart home camera The USB-C cable is flat, so it can be easily stuck on a wall with double-sided tape. It can also be easily painted to be less visible on painted walls. Like here, on a turquoise wall. The external body of the product is made of anodized aluminium and the rest of the product is either made of satin white plastic or chrome parts (to reflect more light on the ceiling or a bit of the colour of the walls/ceiling if they are not white). Four degrees of liberty of the product ensure the maximum versatility in terms of subject tracking. The degrees of liberty are: ? the circular shape base, which can turn at 360°, thanks to a continuous magnetic power and data junction. ? the hinge system (near the Shinka logo), ? the top part of the camera module, which can turn at 270°, ? the camera itself (inside the black area) can rotate by 120°.
