Brief: Design a new range of power boards for office / home users, for the Australian market. Strategic design choice: Bring a different set of design codes for HPM-Legrand for office/home users, as the design codes of the professional range could not fit in this product universe. Design for consumers who are sensitive to smart solutions when they purchase their power boards (thus offering improved features). Proposed to also design a prospective product HPM-Legrand could show to consumers (not sell yet), to drive their brand image, and accompany the release of the new power board range. HPM-Legrand - Range of power boards for home users “Prismo” Prismo is a power board for home use, which features a unique triangle section, which is convenient to hold back all the cables at the back of the product. Prismo also features the patented Legrand integrated on/off switch per socket. Each socket shows its on/off status, through a blue LED ring. An extra part (provided with each product) helps to put several Prismo in line, to power up several computers and devices. The front of the product received a special surface treatment which makes it easy for users to write (and erase) a label to know which socket powers which device.
HPM-Legrand - Power center with control app Prospective concept made in 2008, which explores the possibilities of an app connected power distribution centre, for home/office use. “Cube” helps you to power on/off each switch separately, and track your power consumption, via an online interface (from a smart phone, or a secured website). It also has a power consumption indicator, and a main on/off switch.
