Brief: Design a high-end pendant range, but with some recycled materials. Strategic design choice: Choice of extrusion to reduce costs, but with stainless steel covered in chrome and brushed aluminium. Choice of recycled felt in trendy colours for the top part and either ceramics or honeycomb injection moulding (splicing) parts for the bottom. Marset - Wireframe pendant light (electro-plated chrome + ceramics) This version of pendant light is the high-end version, as it is made of extruded stainless steel for the central part; the sides are made of stainless steel too, but using die casting. The parts are then welded, CNC and polished, before receiving an electro-plated chrome treatment. The bottom part features a one-piece biscuit ceramic with oblong holes patterns to reveal the diffusor.
Marset - Wireframe pendant light (aluminium extrusion version) This version of pendant light is made of extruded aluminium (wire drawing) for the central part. The sides are made of aluminium too, but using die casting (wire drawing). The bottom part features a honeycomb diffusor and plastic injection parts (with small module splicing to reduce cost of moulds).
Marset - Wireframe pendant light We can see well that the high-end version does not show any part line on its metal body. Two different diffusor systems prevent any glare, for maximum eye comfort of users. Four colours are available, all using tinted recycled felt: coral red, raspberry red, cerulean blue and camel. The brand signature is done using lasers, the printing of the signature is using a special moulded stamp. The wifi indicator is only visible when looking at the top of the product, to avoid any disturbance of light ambiance.The ceiling part is all white, and features an additional ambient light.
