Painting - Portrait in Four Parts
'Portrait in Four Parts' is a physical exploration of the abstract human form. After working with literal figurative depiction in my work, I felt the need to explore the human condition - specifically notions of gender identity and the internal and external struggle that occurs when one's expression does not match socially constructed norms. With this in mind, I relied less on the literal figure thus allowing the physicality in material, process, and form drive the outcome of my work.
