Slink Urban Mobility
This project was the result of my Honours year research into urban mobility and the role that transportation has in a City's urban development. The objective of the design was to create more vibrant walk-able cities that are less automobile dependant. The unique high tension guide-way allows the rail vehicles to pass over existing roadways, rivers, parks and built-up areas with minimal disruptment to people at ground level. This low impact design means that the Slink transportation system can be built for a fraction of the cost of conventional rapid transit projects. The vehicles themselves are independently powered through four 80kW electric motors and can comfortably accommodate 68 passengers with unparalleled views of the surrounding cityscape.
