5th Generation Camaro - The Chevrolet Camaro is the third most recognizable nameplate in American automotive history, so when the Camaro was cancelled in 2002, an opportunity arose to develop a new Camaro. The fifth generation Camaro, specifically the Z28 model, is designed to be released as a 2007 model. The design combines styling cues of past generations while incorporating contemporary styling elements, mechanics, and performance. The vehicle was also designed with many of the constraints that automotive designers currently face and is in production form. With this redesign, the Camaro will once again be the dominant vehicle in the affordable performance car market.

Citrus Juicer - The VS Juicer is mainly a form study of a kitchen appliance, a citrus juicer. The form is derived from the twisting motion that is part of the juice extraction process. The rather simple shape has complex surfaces that are not broken and encircle the entire form. The juicer works by the user pressing a piece of fruit against the ribbed top. This activates the motor, spinning the top while the juice flows down the spiral grooves and into the glass. Simple, easy, and fun.
Paint Applicator - The object of this project was to create a low tech solution to a specific problem: Paint Application. The Cobalt Clean Spread is an innovative way to improve upon the current models on the market in a variety of ways. Some of the key features include a free-floating handle, a quick and clean refill process from the paint source, a rotating applicator head, and easy disassembling and cleaning.
How it works: To fill, take the hose supplied and slide it over the fill spout. Then pull back on the small knob until the paint container is full then push the knob back forward. Squeeze the trigger and the paint will be pushed forward by the plunger into the flexible hose in the support shaft. The paint then flows into narrow channels in the head where it is then dispersed to the corners and then through the pad onto the surface.
Paint Sprayer - The object of this project was to create a high tech solution to a specific problem: Paint Application. The Cobalt Paint Sprayer is an innovative way to improve upon the current models on the market in a variety of ways. Some of the key features include battery or 12 volt power, a tilted and balanced design, power suction of the paint from the source, swivel suction tube, and easy disassembling and cleaning The juicer works by the user pressing a piece of fruit against the ribbed top. This activates the motor, spinning the top while the juice flows down the spiral grooves and into the glass. Simple, easy, and fun.
Juvenile Electronic Drawing Toy - The Smart Sketch is an electronic drawing tool for Children 6-10. The user holds the main unit with one hand as it rests on the arm, and the other hand holds the stylus. The user can then “draw in the air” while the information from the movement of the stylus is relayed to the screen in the form of a picture. This allows for a total interactive experience for the child that is both fun and productive. The Smart Sketch is able to save the creations for later viewing or for uploading to a computer or printing. A charger/holder is also included.
Hanging Lamp - The VL-5 Lamp is a design that was inspired by a song. The song is “The Fly” by U2. The inspiration sketches developed into a theme, and then a lamp design. The lamp is a hanging piece meant to be seen from below. The incandescent bulb illuminates the all styrene construction to give a dramatic effect.
This project dealt with designing a Tablet PC based on the design language of an existing company. In this case, the design language of Cadillac was chosen. This design employs the new “Art & Science” theme of the new and future Cadillacs. The design is small and compact with a stylus for interface purposes. The Cadillac CST will see use at dealerships as a tool for sales people as well as for technicians and management. The entire design was created and tested from a clay study model.
AGCO Identity - The object of this project was to develop a redesigned logo for the AGCO Corporation (the second largest manufacturer and distributor of farm equipment) that embodies the specific traits of the company that will be used in conjunction with the many brands and different usages around the world. Logo Traits: - Utilizes shape of the world - Retains "AGCO Rows" - More iconic - Recognizable across the globe - More modern - Parent company fee
AGCO Exhibit - After the logo, designing a tradeshow exhibit was the next step in the corporate identity project. This exhibit would be designed to showcase the company and their product at one of the many tradeshows that AGCO attends each year. Constraints: - no larger than 20' x 20' x 16' - logo tower - theater area with seating for 10 - interactive kiosk - 2 demonstration booths - conference area
