It's not every day you get called by the Company Director a world renowned UK Yacht Design Manufacturer for an exterior 3D Design position. He had come across an old concept of mine, and wanted to see more of the design.
Truth told, the design was just a rough Alias model with a few added sketch notes that I came up with a few years earlier, only to be put in the back cupboard and forgot about.
Prompted for an opportunity to work in the industry, I set myself a challenging 3 week deadline to turn my sketch into reality.
As well as the exterior, I also designed and modeled all the individual product furnishings and marine equipment included throughout to bring the design alive. Devil in the details as they say. I also designed a smaller boats to be housed internally to aid visualizations.
Although impressed by my design and turn around, unfortunately the position required for me to have a range of other skills in other CAD packages and software that I was unfamiliar with.
