While initially conceived as a personal challenge to define and depict my perception of a formal connection between classic children’s toys and modern furniture; this body of work has also come to represent an exploration of the relationships and boundaries between art and design – community and individuality – childhood and adulthood – past and present – as well as work and play. As I have attempted to unify these often disparate paradigms I have found that the product of my work is second in value to the knowledge and experience gained through the process.
