MUZO

Client: QUT
Year: 2013

The project explored design solutions for a proposal based on findings provided from research. The research proposed to address the common occurrence that takes place in music education: the seemingly distinct differences in musicianship among learning participants. This phenomenon is often misunderstood as the possession of musical ‘talent’ or the lack of, therefore there exists numerous accounts where individuals discontinue the pursue of music activities at a young age or after a short duration due to challenges in music learning abilities and lack of motivation.

Muzo seeks to lead a system of products which aim to develop musical skills during early-childhood in a fun and interactive way. It is designed with the consciousness that the role of parents and teachers is vital to a child’s learning. Therefore Muzo incorporates a system which involves the parents and teacher to help create an empowering way for children to understand and express music.
