Tamzen - Developed through the concept of 'Lines in Space', this piece was pulled from a 2D print image into 3D existence via an experimental linear process. A stainless steel lightbox mounts into a cavity inside the solid walnut plank to emit a subtle and elegant lighting effect. The user can manipulate effects through dimmer switches or by adjusting the angle or spaces between the wall.
composing the experimentation - Playing around with composition...
Illumiating the experimentation - This would be a wall mounted piece with light shining through.
Tamzen - I created this silkscreen print the previous semester and decided to use it as inspiration. Lines on Paper -> Lines in Space
Tamzen (mock-up) - Visually this was pretty much what I wanted to create.. except that the light was much too bright. I pictured a more gentle 'glow' that would seep through the spaces between the planks, not gush out and blind you.
