PIKABAK
Awarded iF STUDENT DESIGN AWARD 2015. A child is gifted with a wild imagination, constantly brewing stories and fantasies within. Through drawings and objects, children create a spectacular world from their imagination in which cars move, creatures crawl and monsters roar. However, in real life these creations, remain static. What if they could have a life of their own? What if a house could light up, the earth could shake, dragons could fly without having to deal with complicated electronics? The idea is to simplify complex electronics to make it easily accessible to children. Instead of building toys for children to play with, we intend to enhance the scope of their own creations by providing a toolkit. PIKABAK is a kit that consists of 3 pre-made electronic units with different built in functions, that can be attached to objects to create light, sound, and motion. The home of the PIKABAKs doubles as a docking station // Collaboration project with Charlotte Debrenne & Marlind Gibb.
