Rayyan Respirator Mask, Visor & Cape - Major Project for Graduation Show B.A., Industrial Design University of New South Wales Project "Rayyan" Exhibited in December 2003, Argyle Stores, Sydney, Australia. Model Scale 1:1 This is a respirator mask with visor and cape to assist survival during a fire. Designed primarily with the high-rise office worker in mind as well as high-rise dwellers (residential) in densely populated cities like Sydney, Chicago, Singapore and Hong Kong. Most of the time, fatalities in fire accidents are the result of Intoxication (Narcosis) and the inability to withstand high heat conditions. This Fire Survival Mask protects one from the above conditions during egress or while awaiting rescue. 'Buying' critical time for rescuers, especially in high-rise building fires. Resemblance to an audio headphone allows one to easily know how to put it on, much like how a life jacket should have the look and language of an ordinary jacket.
Louise - 3rd Prize, ASEAN Young Designer (Open Category) Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) Furniture Design Competition, 2001. Theme: "Simplicity" Awarded in March 2002, Singapore. Model Scale 1:1 as a stool or a side table ... to be neatly kept in the store room or to be hung elegantly off the wall ... with the ability to be totally 'flat'. "Flat' allows it to be stacked neatly with very little footprint and storage space required. Constructed from aluminium parts, simply for its strength and finishing, Louise can be hung off the wall as a 'useful' decoration. Ideal for places like cafes, libraries and schools. It can also be utilised as 'additional spare chairs' at home. To be magically summoned from the store room or off the wall when the number of guests exceeds the number of chairs at home.

Manthera - Major Project for Diploma Show Product & Industrial Design, Temasek Polytechnic Project "Manthera" Exhibited in June 1999, Suntec City Atrium, Singapore. Model Scale 1:1 Despite the advent of e-mail, snail-mail is still widely used. In fact, there has been an increase in mail volume according to Singapore Post. Obviously, retrofitting a vespa scooter with an even bigger box will not solve the problem. "Manthera" is a 3-wheeled electric vehicle proposal whose aim is making mail delivery a safer, more pleasant task for our trusted postmen. Electric motor drive will increase overall efficiency as the postman takes virtually the same route everyday. The removable front load mail trolley facilitates for carting from the mail sorting centre. Having the mail load in front allows the postman to constantly 'keep an eye' on the mails he has been entrusted with.
Project Sollah - Project "Sollah" was selected for the First Product Concept Showcase organised by Productivity and Standards Board (PSB) Singapore. Theme: "Urban Solutions" January 1998, Singapore. Model Scale 1:1 A Muslim is required to pray five times a day. The prayer times are set according to the times of dawn, high-noon, late afternoon, dusk and nightfall. These times mark the entry point of each prayer time. The time varies each day due to the relative angle of the sun and the earth and from places to places as well. The Muslim traveller and resident alike will find great convenience in a device like this as he or she can easily synchronize with the local prayer timetable and direction at a place like the airport (kiosks) or even at home via the internet. "Muslim Prayer Pager: It reminds the Muslim of his daily prayer times, and will have a digital compass to show the direction of Mecca. It is a concept from Mohammad Yazid Ab Ghani, 18, a second year industrial design student at Temasek Polytechnic." - The Straits Times, 8th January 1998.
