This is based off a self-portrait I drew of myself in copic markers. I used my tablet to draw a digital version.
This illustration is meant to show a visual metaphor. The young couple is trapped by empty speech bubbles, representing the way their unvoiced thoughts prevent them from moving forward. It's based on a doodle I did in high school, used as a jumping-off point to explore my new Wacom tablet.
This piece was one part of my final project series in a drawing class last semester. It's an illustration of a quote by Terry Pratchett: "I would rather be a rising ape than a falling angel." It's done in charcoal, ebony pencil, and acrylics.
My dad loves to bake pies and take incredibly high quality pictures of them. I painted and framed this imagined scenario of him doing what he loves and gave it to him for Christmas 2012.
This scene is based on a photograph I took of my parents on vacation many years ago. I painted my own version, framed it, and gave it to my mom for Christmas 2012.
