Mt. Baker Plywood Stools - Problem: Design and build easily manufactured furniture for 6-8 year old children using one 4x8’ sheet of plywood. Solution: A family of stools that combine to make a variety of desks, staircases, towers and forts. The stools nestle for storage. Success: Passed real-world durability test at Bellingham Elementary after school child care center.
Runner Support Tools - Problem: Runners are sustaining injuries due to a lack of variety in their workouts and "over-doing it," few solitary runners carry identification. Solution: Runner Support Tools include GPS enhanced eyewear to blaze new trails, a watch that monitors stats to keep athletes in their target zones and a clip-on ID tag. Success: The family of tools tested well amung long distance trail runners.
Wallflower - Problem: Turn “trash into cash” by finding new applications of what would otherwise be wasted materials. Solution: An adjustable wall storage unit built from discarded plastic planting flats. Success: “Wallflower” was a top seller at the Whatcom Museum gift shop.
