The aim of the project was to replicate the functionality of a website in the real world. In the brainstorming session we discussed the possibility of replicating various websites like pinterest, spotify and facebook but
after discussing their feasibility we decided to replicate Dropbox.
To make Dropbox for real we used various sensors (proximity, light) and using an ardunino uno we connected them with each other. Once the prototype was ready we added light and audio feedback to keep user aware of the state.
A user could insert or drop any document into to the box and it was automatically uploaded to the dropbox folder. If the lid was open the document was uploaded to a public folder and if the lid was closed the document was uploaded to
a private folder. This dropbox could be used in various real life situations like banks, ATM and administrative offices.
A research on this project was accepted and presented in APCHI 2013 Banglore.
