Design done for print media. Mock and actual projects.
Slaughterhouse Five. The aim of these designs was to capture the mood Kurt Vonnegut’s literature while keeping the covers cohesive. I used a bold design featuring limited color palettes in each and expirimental layering of typeface and imagery. Spring 2011.
The Martian Chronicles. Spring 2012.
Brave New World. This is a series of three science fiction and dystopian novels. I designed them to subtly feature the human figure interacting with imagery specific to each novel. These are a mixture of vector shapes, photomanipulation and collage. Spring 2012.
Mountains of Madness. Movie poster design for H. P. Lovecraft's book of the same title. Spring 2011.
Firs. Twin Peaks TV series teaser poster. Spring 2012.
Fire. Twin Peaks TV series teaser poster. Spring 2012.
Philia: Cover. This is an identity experiment. I wanted to fabricate a controversial and difficult magazine to create a logo, cover, contents page and feature spread for. I aimed to keep the publication classy and modern despite its subject being fetishes and fixations. It is intruiging and slightly off-putting. Spring 2011.
Philia: Contents. Spring 2011.
Philia: Spread Page One. Spring 2011.
Philia: Spread Page Two. Spring 2011.
BFA Catalog Cover. I designed the catalog, poster and invitations to the Senior Bachelor of Fine Arts Exhibition for 2012. I wanted to make it interesting, sophisticated and neutral to all concentrations of art. I worked with Queen City Printers Inc. and my design assistant Shawna Armstrong to create invitations, the catalog and posters for the show based around this design. Spring 2012.
Inside Spread. Spring 2012.
Album Design: 3D View. The a capella group A Sharp Arrangement from SUNY Potsdam hired me to create a CD cover and booklet design for their new album “Live Your Life.” I was given complete freedom, so the design shown is one of four very different concepts. The CD is on sale online and physically. I did not design the actual CD design. Spring 2012.
