Kinetic Typography Poster - Professor and Head of the School of Design had asked me to design a poster for the kinetic typography showcase that he organized for the School of Design spring 2006. The poster had to be dynamic and also convey the motion of type and image. I used an abstract “carp” and river “currents” as a metaphor for movement and motion. Typography was incorporated in the carp as texture, and the dynamic composition of the poster reflected the motion of kinetic movement through space and time.
Lunar Gala Fashion Poster - Lunar Gala is an yearly fashion show that celebrates the chinese new year. I was on the committee of the year 2005 and was part of the public relations team. I collaborated with a motion graphic designer to create the look and feel for Lunar Gala 2005. We decided to have the red and yellow color scheme with an urban style to the whole show. I designed the poster for that year, which tied in well with the motion graphics during the actual fashion show. Lunar Gala 2005 had a strong, consistent identity.
Camera Motion Piece - This is a short experimentation using the program Cinema 4D. The background images were taken myself, and stitched in Adobe Photoshop. After stitching all the images in one panoramic view, I used it as texture within the linings of a sphere I created in Cinema 4D. I then placed the digital camera I modeled on the axis of the sphere and animated it to turn, rotating a full 360 degrees. dimensions: 700 X 525 programs: Cinema 4D, Adobe photoshop
