african mudcloth & leather cushions
These unusual cushions are made using African Mudcloth – a Malian cotton fabric traditionally dyed with fermented mud and vegetable dyes, which researchers date as far back as the twelfth century AD. One design is chequered monochrome and the other is made from black patent lamb leather and each style is influenced by this historical method of creating individual fabrics. These cushions are especially unique as no two mudcloths are the same.
