Ornamentation has been an oxymoron in design based on functionalism. Instead, decorative items have always been popular standing alone. In Portal bookshelf, traditional figures transformed to fit with today's culture have been incorporated into a solid part of convertible furniture. The material is solid birch. Sculptures are made by Kaj Lindgård.
