I used this texture of rotten wood on the right arm to give the arm a grainy, uneven pattern to help add to the effect that the zombie is rotten, decomposing.
I used this texture of some sort of mushroom/fungus on the zombies neck. It has a very low opacity but adds the uneven and blotchy effect.
I used this texture of the bottom of a pan on the left arm of the zombie to give it a burned, scorched effect. I also used it on the neck to give the same effect.
I used this texture of a cabbage leaf on the face of the zombie, on the cheek. I warped it to make it seem like it is a cut or a scratch.
Final Edit, 2013. This is the final edit, of the zombie on the final background.
Fallen Tree, 2013. This is the unedited background. It was taken in the woods behind my house, and is a cave-like mound of dirt that was created when a tree fell, but not all the way.

On the zombie, I used multiple textures to give the skin on any certain part that texture. The textures I used are in the gallery. I mostly used the Burn Tool, on the midtones setting, to give the skin a rotten, decomposing look. It also helped to make the lips the odd color that they are.

On the background, I used the Black and White adjustment to make the background entirely B&W. I then used the burn tool to help certain things to stand out, and the dodge tool to make some areas less dark. I then applied a color with a low opacity on a new layer to give it an eerie, ominous effect.
