This is the unedited version of my recreation. I turned off the flash. On my camera, I increased the amount of exposure to make it a bit brighter, since it wasn't very well lighted. I also used macros to make it more focused.
This is my final photoshop edit. In photoshop, I flipped the picture horizontally, and had to use hue/saturation and the paint brush to make the pillow case the same shade as in Jay Maisel's. Also, I gave my sister a bit of a tan to add some color to her skin using the paint brush. I used hue/saturation on her eye to make it blue, similar to the child in Jay Maisel's photograph. I darkened her hair to a more dark brown color, using the burn tool. Lastly, I used the dodge tool to add a bit of a glare coming off of her arm to match the glare in the original photograph of Jay Maisel.
No Title, n.d. Taken by Jay Maisel. © Jay Maisel. This is the photograph I recreated. It is a child, laying down on a blanket, and looking at nothing in particular.

Recreation

This is my photo recreation. The one I recreated has No Title, and No date, but was taken by Jay Maisel. It features a child, laying down on a red sheet, looking at nothing in particular. For my recreation, I had my little sister pull her hair back to her bangs alone were seen. She wore a tank-top and laid down on a pillow case. Then, I had her look at my wall, and I took the picture.
